Winnipegosis 100th

Winnipegosis Centennial Celebration

The Village of Winnipegosis celebrated its 100th year on July 10, 11 & 12, 2015.

The event actually began a few days earlier with a spectacular show from the Snowbirds at the Winnipegosis beach and campground. The event was accompanied by food vendors and music from local musicians.

On Thursday, the Village hosted an outdoor movie on the boulevard on Main St. with food vendors.

Throughout the celebration weekend there were many events, food vendors, and very talented local musicians and dancers.

There was the grand opening of the Winnipegosis Museum which used to be the old CN train station. The Winnipegosis Golf Club had a golf tournament and put on a Steak Supper on Friday evening. A Pickerel Dinner was hosted by the Winnipegosis Elks and Royal Purple on Saturday evening. Socials finished off Friday and Saturday night.

Hundreds of people came out to see the big parade on Saturday. Other events included an interdenominational church service, a tractor pull, a pancake breakfast, an ATV mudbog event, pony rides, a petting zoo, a display by the Dauphin Agriculture Heritage Club, a magic show and many kids activities.

There were dozens of local musicians and talented dancers performing daily. Musicians playing many different genres and the traditional Métis and Ukrainian dancers performed and entertained the big crowds.
